The Grant Thornton Advisors (NI) Tax Team is a growing team of over 70 specialists with deep industry, sector and technical knowledge.

We are seeking to recruit a talented, ambitious leader to join our Corporate Transactions Tax Advisory team as a Director in Belfast to build on our continuing momentum and seize the significant opportunities ahead.

As Director, you will use your technical knowledge and experience to help lead an established team and play an active role supporting the firm’s Partners in developing new business.

This is a leadership role within our team that provides an opportunity to become a key part of the business at a pivotal moment and will offer attractive career development and progression opportunities.

Main responsibilities will include some or all of the following:

1. Autonomy to lead engagements to deliver Transaction Tax Advisory services to clients that are sizable in both scope and scale by proactively providing intelligent and creative solutions to complex technical tax issues.
2. Responsible for leading concurrently on range of Transaction Tax Advisory projects, including tax due diligence, both buy side and sell side, M&A structuring services and other tax structuring assignments.
3. Act as a subject matter expert with in-depth, up to date, specialist knowledge and the ability to deal with complex tax issues arising on transactions.
4. Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships, understanding the clients' business, strategy and goals.
5. Pivotal role in identifying opportunities to provide additional services to new and existing clients.
6. Actively manage financial operations of the team, delivering on budgets and meeting own financial targets set.
7. Lead, manage, motivate and coach a team of tax professionals providing guidance and technical support.
8. Collaborate effectively with the wider firm and third-party stakeholders to provide integrated services to our clients.

Skills and Attributes

1. ACA/ACCA and/or CTA qualified.
2. Significant post qualification experience of working in a corporation tax department of large practice. Experience within a Big Four or top-tier professional services firm is desirable, although equivalent experience in industry will be considered.
3. Significant time spent in leadership capacity, taking a proactive interest in the team's performance, development and wellbeing.
