Job Description
Our Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) Tax team is structured to provide the full spectrum of tax services to private equity, across funds, deals, and portfolio companies on a wide scope of transactional work both domestically and internationally.
We advise mid-market private equity firms and large corporates with deal values from a few million to over a billion. We support clients throughout the deal lifecycle, from proposal and due diligence to post-deal advice.
Our work spans various sectors, including technology, gaming, care homes, art galleries, travel, and retail. This role involves technical tax work, client interaction, and organizational skills.
The TAS Tax team is small, growing rapidly, offering opportunities for responsibility and development.
We seek enthusiastic individuals aiming for a Manager role and interested in M&A tax careers. We support flexible working arrangements, including reduced hours and job shares, to help balance work, study, and life.
Role Overview
As Associate Director, you will provide tax structuring advice, undertake tax due diligence on buy-side and sell-side transactions for private equity and corporate clients, and may work on public company transactions on AIM and the London Stock Exchange.
You will lead discussions with clients and legal advisers, manage relationships, collaborate with other teams, oversee due diligence meetings, and review reports. You will prepare and review tax structuring reports, analyze forecast models, and work with legal documentation.
Building internal networks and working closely with external contacts like private equity funds, law firms, and intermediaries for business development are key aspects of the role.
You will also participate in proposals, presentations, manage project budgets, and ensure timely billing and debt collection. Producing technical research and developing your team are also part of your responsibilities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a qualified chartered accountant or tax adviser (ACA, CA, CTA, ADIT or equivalent) with a solid UK tax background. Experience in UK corporation tax compliance, M&A, and other tax issues such as transfer pricing, R&D, VAT, employment taxes, and share transactions is desirable.
Proven client handling, project management, technical advising, and multitasking skills are essential. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are also required.
Our Culture and Values
We foster an inclusive culture that values diversity and individual contributions. Our environment encourages authenticity and supports work-life balance through flexible options.
Beyond work, we promote societal impact through secondments, charity work, and supporting entrepreneurs. Our values—purposefully driven, curious, candid, and kind—guide us in doing the right thing.
We seek individuals eager to contribute, innovate, and uphold high standards for clients, colleagues, and themselves. That’s how it should be.
