Qualifications

• Experience in a finance function is required.
• Payroll experience is desirable but training will be provided.

Location: Lazonby, Cumbria, CA10 1BG

Salary: Competitive

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours: 40 hours per week 9-5pm

We are an established family bakery with a taste for quality, having created delicious products for over 75 years. Our organisation produces baked goods for retail and food service, specialising in cake and sweet pastry tart products.

We supply all major UK retailers with ambient Free From ranges and a number of leading Coffee Shop Chains with ambient and frozen ranges.

Transactional Finance Assistant – The Role

This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining our accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate reconciliations, chasing outstanding debt, and supporting internal managers with spend accountability.

Transactional Finance Assistant - Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently handle the accounts payable/receivable inbox, ensuring timely processing of sales/purchase invoices and accurate data entry
• Execute end-to-end invoice processing activities, including validation, coding, and approval workflows
• Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues with sales/purchase invoices promptly
• Conduct periodic reconciliation of supplier/customer accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions, proactively resolving any discrepancies
• Assist in the preparation and processing of payments to vendors, ensuring adherence to payment terms and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Review and compare business expenses against Company Policy for payment and reporting
• Provide support for the processing of weekly and monthly payroll
  
  

Transactional Finance Assistant – You

• Either Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualified or working towards
• Previous experience in a finance function
• Previous payroll experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
• Ability to cope with pressure and adapt to different situations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong data interpretation (Excel essential)
• Skilled in managing multiple projects and systems simultaneously
