Job description
Overview

Are you an analytical and detail-oriented finance professional? We are seeking a Transactional Accounting Officer to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing financial transactions and invoices, as well as support and provide cover for the credit control function to assist with maintaining a healthy cash flow for the business.

Responsibilities
  • Processing and reconciling financial transactions, including invoices and payments
  • Supporting month-end closing procedures and reporting financial data to senior management
  • Collaborating with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve financial processes
  • Ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts and maintaining good customer relationships
  • Assisting and provide cover for the Credit control function to monitor customer accounts to identify and follow up on overdue payments, contacting clients to chase outstanding debts
  • Assist with negotiate and set up repayment plans where necessary, reduce aged debt through strategic follow-ups
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports on debtor status for senior management
  • Produce and send out monthly statements and periodic letters in line with the debt policy
  • Allocation of remittances to customer invoices
Qualifications, skills & experience
  • Previous experience in transactional accounting, accounts receivable or credit control role
  • A good understanding of debt collection procedures
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Proficiency in accounting software (such as Sage 200) and Microsoft suite including Excel, Teams, Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working arrangements

Location: Dagenham

Contract Type: Part-Time (27.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri), Permanent

Salary: £22,150
