Michael Page Finance in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Transaction Services leader to head delivery and build a high-performing team in the city centre.

You will lead due diligence engagements across £1m–£50m, manage client relationships, coach managers, and shape operational strategy in a fast-paced advisory environment. This is a true number two opportunity with influence over service delivery and market initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support leadership and day-to-day management of the Transaction Services team.
• Own operational delivery, ensuring efficient execution to high standards.
• Lead financial due diligence engagements for a range of transactions.
• Manage multiple assignments, overseeing planning, execution, and delivery.
• Review financial analysis, deal drivers and transaction risks.
• Act as senior escalation point for clients and stakeholders.
• Develop and mentor managers and junior team members.
• Contribute to strategic planning, resource management, and improvements.
• Build relationships with clients, intermediaries, PE houses and advisers.
• Support business development and market-facing initiatives.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Transaction Services professional to join a leading advisory firm in a pivotal number two leadership position within its Birmingham City Centre team. The Transaction Services team advises owner-managed businesses, private equity investors, corporate acquirers and funders across a broad range of transactions, delivering high-quality financial due diligence and transaction support services.

Description

• Support the leadership and day-to-day management of the Transaction Services team
• Take ownership of operational delivery, ensuring transactions are executed efficiently and to the highest technical standards
• Lead financial due diligence engagements for corporate, private equity and owner-managed business transactions
• Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, overseeing planning, execution and client delivery
• Review and challenge financial analysis, key deal drivers and transaction risks
• Act as a senior escalation point for clients and internal stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle
• Develop, coach and mentor managers and junior team members, helping to build a high-performing advisory team
• Contribute to strategic planning, resource management and operational improvement initiatives
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, intermediaries, private equity houses and other professional advisers
• Support business development activities and participate in networking and market-facing initiatives, whilst operating within a role that has a stronger operational and leadership focus than pure revenue generation

Profile

• Extensive Transaction Services experience at a leadership level
• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification
• Proven experience leading due diligence projects and managing client relationships
• Experience developing and managing teams within a fast-paced advisory environment
• Commercially aware with an understanding of the wider M&A landscape
• Comfortable operating as a senior leader and trusted adviser to clients and colleagues alike
• Able to balance operational leadership responsibilities with selective business development activity
