TRANSACTION BANKING (TxB)

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Payments Product Manager is responsible for defining and executing the Payments Product strategy. This involves collaborating with Transaction Banking teams, including Operations, Engineering, and Coverage, to implement and manage core payment rails and develop innovative payment solutions to meet client needs. A deep understanding of Corporate payments, payment rails integration (including cross border/cross currency solutions), and connectivity solutions for ERP and Treasury Workstations is essential. Industry trends and client challenges will inform the strategic product roadmap.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement payments product strategy aligned with Transaction Banking’s growth objectives
• Provide end-to-end product management support for UK and European payments teams
• Drive commercialization through partnerships across product, coverage, operations, and service teams
• Engage with Transaction Banking Coverage teams and clients to understand needs and support solution design and deployment
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal partners including business units, product teams, and technology organizations

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Experience with payment rails such as SWIFT, FPS, CHAPS, BACS, SEPA, SEPA Instant, TARGET2, or cross-border/cross-currency solutions
• Strong organizational, time management, and planning skills with a track record of managing multiple initiatives
• Mission-driven with a strong belief in teamwork and organizational mission
• Respectful of cultural differences within teams
• Forward-thinking with the ability to anticipate organizational needs for efficiency
• Proven ability to generate ideas and develop new business opportunities

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in Treasury/Cash Management product management, development, engineering, or operations, focusing on end-to-end payments including cross-border and cross-currency solutions
• Experience with payment rails such as SWIFT, FPS, CHAPS, BACS, SEPA, SEPA Instant, TARGET2, or cross-border/cross-currency solutions
• Proficiency with JIRA for defining epics, stories, and test cases, and executing test cases
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams on payment rail implementation
• Track record supporting client needs analysis, solution recommendations, RfP responses, and pricing
• Experience delivering product demos and presentations
• Ability to train and support client service, operations, and business partners on new payment products
• Contributing to marketing strategies and communication plans

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience in agile development as a Product Owner, including writing epics, stories, and test cases
• Knowledge of cash management services and products, including collections, payments, account structures, liquidity management, and virtual accounts
• Strong understanding of the payments industry and complex solution consulting
• Technical expertise in ISO 20022 and SWIFT standards
• Experience managing UAT testing for payments systems
• Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into solutions
• Skill in mobilizing internal networks and resources
• Strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and cross-functional partners
• Knowledge of channels products like internet, host-host, API, SWIFT, and mobile channels (desirable)
• Familiarity with ERP functions and Treasury Management Systems (desirable)
