Job Overview

Our market-leading Sale and Purchase Agreement Advisory team at Grant Thornton is hiring at Manager grade to continue our rapid growth! We operate within the wider Deals Advisory and Consulting service line.

We seek Managers with technical and commercial skills who enjoy optimizing value for clients undertaking acquisitions and disposals. Ideal candidates should have experience with transactions involving mergers and acquisitions, understanding completion mechanisms, enterprise value (EV) to equity value bridges, the financial aspects of Sale and Purchase Agreements (SPA), and assisting buyers and/or sellers with preparation, review, or dispute of completion and earn-out accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle transactions with minimal partner involvement; interface with clients and professionals; know when to seek advice.
  • Build trust with clients by understanding their perspectives and responding to demands.
  • Identify and resolve risk management issues, involving senior staff as needed.
  • Draft engagement letters and ensure take-on work is completed timely.
  • Understand technical issues, propose solutions, and seek advice when necessary.
  • Produce high-quality financial analyses with minimal input.
  • Draft fee estimates and budgets for review.
  • Present conclusions and recommendations to clients, discussing implications.
  • Monitor assignment costs versus budgets, challenging team charges when appropriate.
  • Understand firm’s products and actively cross-sell services.
  • Engage in self-development through performance reviews and PDP processes.
Minimum Criteria

Professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA, or CIPFA) with post-qualification experience, confident managing a large portfolio of audit clients.

Desirable Skills
  • Experience with EV to equity value bridges.
  • Advising on financial and accounting aspects of sales and purchase agreements.
  • Experience with preparation, review, or dispute of completion and earn-out accounts.
