Due to the level of technical knowledge and skill required for this role, this is a fantastic progression opportunity. If you are currently a Production Operator, you would be considered for the Training Technician position. If you are currently a Technical Operator, you would be considered for a Manufacturing Trainer position.
Job summary - What to expect:
We are looking for a Manufacturing Trainer/Technical Trainer on a 6 month secondment within the Manufacturing Direct Training team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering manufacturing training in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS) to maintain compliance and ensure the business is audit ready.
You will be responsible for Production Operator and Technical Operator Certification and Re-certification training. The key objective of this role will be providing training and re-training to manufacturing personnel whilst motivating and developing team members by instructing and providing coaching to successfully perform their job role.
Essential responsibilities:
- Planning: able to prioritise & multitask all manufacturing and training requirements so deadlines are met in accordance with training plans:
- Generate and agree on training plans with the Training Team Leaders, Manufacturing Shift or Team Leader.
- Maintain employee training plans to align with business unit objectives.
- Administering and maintaining training records on Agile, CVA UK Training system, and training trackers.
- Maintaining the Electronic Training Records (ETR) to ensure the business is audit ready.
Team Work: represent the training team as an inclusive and diverse environment, to build relationships, and to collaborate effectively to achieve common goals:- Work closely with the training team across all shifts to ensure all tasks in which we train are performed the same way across all areas of the business.
- Participate in process improvement projects and drive the change delivering training and educating manufacturing employees.
- Act as a point of contact between the Shift Leader, Team Leader, and Training Team Leader.
- Support the leadership team when development needs are identified: e.g., training, explanation of criteria, and re-training.
- Provide feedback regarding training activities and generate reports to support individual development if required.
- Work with the training team from other business units across all shifts.
- Be flexible to deliver training across multiple departments to align with training and team goals.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve training processes and address department challenges.
- Mentor and develop Training Technicians by providing guidance, coaching, and sharing knowledge.
- Collaborate with technical operators, engineering, tooling, and maintenance teams to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

- Identify training and re-training needs.
- Manage schedules and training plans to meet individual goals.
- Provide Certification, Re-certification training, guidance, and support to the manufacturing team.
- Maintain a consistent level of training and effective use of training materials when delivering training.
- Maintain training compliance metrics.
- Review existing documentation to ensure current procedures reflect working practices.
- Develop and maintain training materials used for training delivery.
- Promote Health and Safety awareness and quality compliance, ensuring all trainees follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Deliver technical training to ensure employees are capable and competent with new technologies and process improvements.
- Understand the OEE system to aid team training and development.
- Support production and technical operators in data collection related to OPEX processes.
- Collaborate with technical operators to maintain line efficiency, maximize equipment, and optimize machine performance.

- Assess trainee understanding and retention during training and re-training.
- Monitor and provide feedback on trainees, supporting individual development.
- Support development and review of testing materials such as ClassMarker.
- Use Agile system effectively.
- Review training documentation to ensure alignment with manufacturing processes.
- Assist in documentation creation for new technologies or process improvements.
- Support individual development as per the DOVE program.
- Provide resources to help trainees track progress.

About you:
We are looking for:
- Proven technical skills, likely gained in a Technical Operator role.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with training experience.
- Strong numerical, verbal, and literacy skills.
- IT literacy with practical knowledge of Microsoft applications.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and problem-solving approaches.
- Effective communication skills for conveying information clearly.
- Ability to plan and adapt plans quickly to meet business needs.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety procedures.
What do we offer?
Manufacturing Trainer = Starting salary £31,187 + shift allowance
Training Technician = Starting salary £28,221 + shift allowance
