Training Supervisor

  • Reports to: Training Manager Base: Bournemouth (Training Office) Contract: Full-time, Office-Based Working Pattern: Monday–Friday + participation in out-of-hours duty roster (home based cover over evenings (17:00-21:00) /weekends (10:00-19:00)

Role Summary

The Training Supervisor plays a central role in supporting the daily operations, compliance, and efficiency of the training department. Reporting to the Training Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating simulator and training activities, managing third-party FSTD bookings, overseeing training records, and supervising the admin team. This role also contributes directly to resource planning, training reporting, and out-of-hours disruption response.

Key Responsibilities

Simulator Scheduling & Commercial Sales

  • Manage daily scheduling of the A330/A340 FSTD, balancing internal training needs with third-party bookings (up to 1500 hours annually).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for commercial simulator customers, including quoting, availability planning, and session coordination.
  • Work closely with the FSTD Manager and device host on simulator readiness, serviceability windows, and scheduled downtime.
  • Track simulator utilisation and generate usage reports for internal and regulatory use.

Training Coordination & Operational Oversight

  • Coordinate daily simulator, ground school, and line training sessions, ensuring instructor and trainee assignments are accurate and efficient.
  • Oversee trainee progression, monitor resource conflicts, and implement real-time reallocation of instructors or sessions when needed.
  • Liaise with Rostering, Operations Control, and Crew Planning to resolve last-minute changes and protect training continuity.
  • Deputise for the Training Manager in daily operations and planning meetings when required.

Admin Supervision & Record Oversight

  • Supervise and support the training admin team in managing reports, EFOS entries, qualification tracking, and documentation flow.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of training records in EFOS, Centrik, and PDC.
  • Conduct regular self-audits of crew records to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Assist with audit preparation and support the HoT, CFI, and TM during oversight inspections or CAA visits.

KPI Reporting & Analysis

  • Compile simulator usage reports and contribute to department-level training KPIs.
  • Provide data-driven feedback to management on bottlenecks, trainee progress, and simulator efficiency.

Program Support & Systems

  • Support instructor authors with program development logistics, formatting, and version control.
  • Participate in EFOS system rollout tasks and help maintain procedural updates in the Training Admin Procedures Manual.
  • Use internal platforms including EFOS, Centrik, and PDC to manage planning, records, and tasking.

Out-of-Hours Duty Cover

  • Take part in a structured Duty Training roster to respond to disruption calls in evenings and at weekends.
  • Action decisions within defined limits (e.g. reallocating instructors, session swaps), escalating to senior management only when required.
  • Maintain a disruption log and ensure clear handovers

Person Profile

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of airline training operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience using Centrik, PDC, and document control systems. Training on EFOS will be given.
  • Confident communicator with ability to manage external clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to make operational decisions under time pressure.
  • Previous experience supervising staff and coordinating cross-functional tasks
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Ability to pass Company background and criminal record checks

Desirable

  • Exposure to A330/A340 training operations or commercial FSTD use.
  • Involvement in audit processes (internal or external).
  • Project support or involvement in training program rollout or documentation revision
