Job Description

Training Scheme – Engineering & Pilots

Our client is hiring for their Pilot and Engineering training schemes! You’ll have the chance to play a pivotal role in ensuring they can continue to provide life-changing services to the isolated communities that need them most.

This is an exceptional opportunity for enthusiastic individuals with Physics and Mathematics A-levels and active service in a church, school, or another sphere to support vital work overseas and embark on a journey of a lifetime.

Location: Based in the UK while training, based overseas on assignment

Contract: Minimum 4-year basis, full-time

The Role

Joining one of our client’s training schemes, you will gain the skills and qualifications necessary to serve in aircraft roles overseas, supporting their goal to reach isolated communities.

These programmes provide a unique opportunity to combine professional development with a meaningful calling, enabling you to play a vital role in delivering aid, healthcare, and hope to those in remote regions of Africa and the Asia-Pacific.

Through a structured and sponsored training pathway, you will acquire the theoretical knowledge and experience required to become fully qualified in your field.

You will participate in all academic and practical training, keep accurate financial records related to your training, and engage in activities that prepare you to represent the organisation during and after your training.

On successful completion of the programme, you will serve with our client overseas, applying your skills in real-world situations that support their vital work.

About You

To join our client, you will need:

  1. Experience in a church, school, or another sphere
  2. Good attention to detail
  3. A-levels (or equivalent) including Physics and Mathematics at least grade B or above

Experience in aircraft, engineering or maintenance would be beneficial to your application, as would overseas/cross cultural experience.

Due to the nature of our client’s work, which involves regular overseas travel, these positions are open only to UK passport holders who are also UK residents. This is because they are only able to reliably secure the necessary visas for individuals with a UK passport.

The Organisation

Our client is a faith-based organisation that delivers practical support and awareness across the globe.

The Benefits

  • Remuneration while on the training scheme will be a trainee allowance to support living costs (for post training and while on overseas secondments, this will be a ‘needs based allowance’, including spouse and child allowance as dependents will be expected to travel with the role holder)
  • Annual leave entitlement of 22 days per year, plus 8 paid public holidays
  • Housing overseas provided
  • Annual return flight to the UK provided
  • Non-contributory pension scheme
  • Medical cover

Throughout the fully sponsored training scheme, you’ll gain world-class skills and qualifications while preparing to serve in some of the most remote and challenging environments, making a tangible difference to people’s lives every single day.

Once trained, you’ll embark on an unforgettable journey overseas, using your expertise to help bring life-saving aid and medical support to isolated communities who would otherwise be unreachable.

As a Christian mission, our client seeks staff who share in the evangelical Christian values and beliefs as described in the mission, purpose, values, and beliefs statements. All staff will be required to actively support and demonstrate the Christian values of the organisation and to take part in organisational activities such as staff devotions, prayer meetings, and fellowship days.

Other organisations may call this opportunity Aircraft Training Programme, Pilot Development Scheme, Aircraft Engineering Trainee Scheme, Aircraft Technician Training Programme, or Pilot and Engineer Sponsorship Scheme.
