A leading healthcare organization seeks a dynamic Training Programme Director for Simulation in Intensive Care Medicine to develop and implement a regional simulation program. This role involves collaboration with various teams to enhance training standards, ensuring high-quality patient-centered care and compliance with national guidelines.
The London School of Intensive Care Medicine is seeking applications from a dynamic and enthusiastic, substantive Intensive Care Medicine Consultant to undertake the role of Training Programme Director for Simulation.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the strategic and operational development & delivery of a regional simulation programme aligned with the 2021 FICM curriculum. The programme will build on an established regional training day offering, integrating additional learning opportunities to create a sustainable blended learning package, combining online teaching with face-to-face sessions and simulation.
The Training Programme Director will collaborate with the Postgraduate Dean to lead functions within their specialty, ensuring compliance with NHS England mandates, Royal College standards, and guidelines within Intensive Care Medicine.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of School, other Intensive Care Medicine TPDs, the LaSE team including the PGMDE Business Manager, Postgraduate Dean, and key departments like Quality.
They will aim to produce doctors committed to high standards of patient-centered care and lifelong professional development.
The Programme Director will ensure adherence to national standards set by the Royal College and internal guidelines within Intensive Care Medicine.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced NHS Consultant with thorough knowledge of ICM training, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Successful applicants will undergo an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) in ESR, which collects employment data from current or previous NHS employers, subject to their consent.
