Job description
Overview

An outstanding individual is sought to fulfil the role of Training Programme Director for ACCS South. The post will be available on the basis of a secondment arrangement to NHS England, remunerated on the NHS Consultant Pay Scale – 0.42 PA.

Responsibilities
  • Work and support the Head of School in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions, aligned to the NHS England mandate.
  • Focus on improvement of learner supervision, assessment and experience, engagement of faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes.
  • Drive whole workforce transformation and develop multi‑professional links as well as innovative ways of curriculum delivery and workforce well‑being strategies.
  • Support the Postgraduate Dean, Training Programme Directors work across the spectrum of health and where relevant, social care, within the context of a team, so that the provision of education reflects changing service models.
  • Engage all relevant stakeholders on a local, regional and national basis, including the Postgraduate Dean, Head of School, clinical faculty, professional bodies and wider stakeholder network.
  • Ensure high standards of education and training as defined by the General Medicine Council and other national bodies within Yorkshire and the Humber.
  • Commit to national vision, policies and processes for effective educational quality management.
  • Ensure objectives are met within budget, reducing waste where required and meeting Code of Practice Guidelines.
  • Provide accurate guidance to trainees on OOP/IDTs/LTFT/acting up applications.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess a current NHS consultant level placement and a proven track record of leadership in postgraduate medical education, with the ability to deliver complex training programmes within a large, multidisciplinary workforce.
