Our advanced manufacturing site in Telford, is one of our main processing facilities, processing up to 1.5 million birds per week. There are over 1,200 talented people employed at our Telford site, helping us to deliver high quality products to our customers and making the business a trusted leader in fresh foods.

We’ve recently invested £2.3 million in technology and equipment, making it one of the most advanced food manufacturing facilities in the UK.

The role is predominantly officebased, but as part of the role there will be times you are required to enter the factory environment which is a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas.

As Training Partner, you’ll be workingMonday to Friday 08.00-16.30 (there may also be occasional requirement to work weekends and flex on to our night shift)

What will you be doing as a Training Partner at Avara?

To provide the delivery and co-ordination of off-the-job operational training, including management training, induction, refresher training, manual handling, food safety and health and safety.

Responsible for the line management of the Employee Support Advisors to ensure an effective onboarding experience for new colleagues.

What will your key responsibilities include?

  • Induction & Refresher & Operational Training: Oversee the delivery of induction, refresher, manual handling and Food Safety training, ensuring they meet compliance standards and are effectively communicated to new and existing employees.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in training delivery and content, implementing changes to enhance effectiveness.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor training records and attendance to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports on training activities, compliance status, and team performance to senior management.
  • Co-ordinate English Development training in line with site requirements / gap analysis, utilising the ESAs to deliver activities
  • To arrange, create, produce and distribute training-related material.
  • Work with line managers to develop, implement and review competency / verification of learning assessments
  • Support delivery of ad-hoc operational training including human rights and ethics training, first line manager development, etc

What you’ll need to be successful:

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours

  • Proven experience in training coordination and delivery, preferably in a manufacturing or operational environment
  • Understanding of effective training skills and techniques
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • In depth knowledge of training compliance standards and regulations
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Demonstrate passion and commitment developing others
  • Strong and engaging communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office – in particular MS PowerPoint
  • Minimum GCSE A-C Grades in Maths and English or equivalent

Desirable

  • A formal learning & development qualification at Level 3/ CIPD/ TAP
  • Experience of the food manufacturing Industry
