Job summary

A leading educational provider in Scotland is seeking a Training Officer to manage and deliver Scottish Qualifications. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and communication skills, with at least two years of experience in Human Resources, Training, or Youth Work. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary between £33,919 and £36,639, including a Distant Islands Allowance. Closing date for applications is August 11, 2025.

Training Officer, Health & Social Care
37 hours per week, Permanent Post
£33,919 to £36,639 p.a. (inclusive of £2,859 Distant Islands Allowance p.a.)

The Training Officer will have responsibility for the organisation, administration and delivery of Scottish Qualification’s for whom the Comhairle are approved to deliver.

The Training Officer will manage the accreditation and quality assurance of all Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) awards delivered within the Approved Centre and co-ordinate, support, develop, implement and monitor all training, learning, assessment and verification in relation to these awards.

Educated to SVQ 3 or equivalent in related discipline. Educated to Higher level or equivalent with at least two years’ experience working in Human Resources, Training or Youth Work. It is essential that you have good organisational skills with an ability to work on own initiative, excellent communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. The postholder will have knowledge of all aspects of the delivery of training programmes and a good working knowledge of educational structures and evidence/theory requirements of accredited training programmes.

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
