An established industry player is seeking a passionate Training Officer to enhance operational capabilities within the council. This role involves preparing and delivering training primarily for operational staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively. Friarton Depot, Perth
You will prepare and deliver training primarily of operational operatives involving regular contact with refuse collection, street cleaning, public convenience services and ground maintenance. However, the post will also involve preparing/delivering training for employees of other council departments and non-council external candidates.
Your shift pattern will be Tuesday to Friday 07:30 - 17:00 hrs daily, working 36 hours per week.

A CE Driving licence is essential. To be successful, you must hold a current CE Driving Licence, CPC Card and a Digital Tachograph Card.
You will be aware of Road Transport Regulations, you will be able to carry out the physical demands of the job, and as a representative of the Council, you will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the public as well as colleagues.
You will bring a positive energy; have the ability to work well as part of a team.
You will be aware of Health & Safety legislation and you will have effective visual skills with the ability to ensure the safety of other road users and pedestrians.
You will have the ability to carry out vehicle inspections, ensuring that your vehicle is safe to drive and meets all legal requirements. You will have the ability to operate and to navigate in and around the Perth & Kinross area.
You must be able to prepare and deliver training in connection with Environment Services Operations together with all related correspondence, including preparation of all training material from conception to completion.
You must be a team player who understands the importance of good morale and proactively pursues good professional relationships with colleagues.
The ability to treat colleagues and customers with dignity and respect as per the employee charter is essential and you will have the ability to work co-operatively with others.
You must be able to carry out the physical demands of the post.
You must be able to do any paperwork associated with the post e.g. timesheets, work schedules, records etc. Knowledge of computers/smartphones would also be beneficial.
