The University of Bath is looking for a skilled, enthusiastic, and people-centred trainer to deliver a staff-focused training programme focused around inclusive culture. The Training Officer's work will be varied, challenging and involve delivering training to and collaborating with our wider community.

You will lead on developing and delivering in-person, online and e-training packages on topics including consent, allyship, being an active bystander, equality and diversity. You will evaluate and monitor the engagement with and impact of the training on our diverse university community. Your role will form a core component of the University's anti-harassment initiative, #NeverOK.

You'll be part of a supportive team but will have opportunities to work with colleagues across the university, liaising with academic departments and working in partnership with the Student Support and Safeguarding Team, Students' Union and wider HR Department.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate a track record of developing and delivering impactful training, with successful outcomes for diverse audiences. You will have a good understanding of equality and diversity issues, and inclusive practice and how to apply this in your work. Previous experience of delivering training relating to subjects such as equality, diversity and inclusion will be advantageous but is not essential.

Previous experience in developing e-learning packages or using e-learning creation platforms, will also be an advantage but is not essential. However, you will need to be able to quickly and confidently learn new software packages and platforms and be excited and enthusiastic about developing skills in this area.

You will understand the importance of evaluation to monitor the effectiveness of your training and be comfortable analysing data and writing reports. You will need to be organised, self-motivated and able to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders in the development and delivery of training.

You will enjoy working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, as well as be excited by the idea of collaborating with our staff and contributing to a safe and more inclusive experience for our community.

If you would like to discuss the role prior to applying, please feel free to contact either Abi Phillips, Deputy Director Culture and Inclusion or Peter Eley, Deputy Director HR Services.
