Job description

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Training Manager to join our home care team, based from our Head Office in Blackburn, on a permanent full time basis.

Homecare For You is a specialist provider of high quality home care services. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated person, to work alongside our existing Training Manager, and provide high quality training and support for our staff caring for the elderly and vulnerable.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain high-quality training materials and programs in line with CQC requirements and current legislation.

- Deliver engaging, effective training sessions to new and existing care staff, including induction, mandatory, refresher, and specialist training.

- Assess training needs through consultations with branch managers and team leaders.

- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, implementing improvements where necessary.

- Keep accurate training records and ensure compliance with audit and inspection requirements.

- Travel to other branches (Nelson, Preston, Bolton, and Rochdale) as required.

- Support and mentor staff to promote continuous professional development.

- Stay current with industry developments, policies, and best practices.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications Required

Minimum of level 3 RQF / NVQ in Health and Social Care, including the safe administration of medication unit (or working towards attainment). Level 3 PTTLS Award in Education and Training. Train the Trainer, or Key Handler, in Moving and Handling.

Experience in delivering group training sessions, with good presentation and delivery skills. Experience in delivering mandatory training (full care certificate) courses including, Moving and Handling, Safeguarding, Dementia Awareness, First aid, Medication Management.

Requirements

- Proven experience in a training or learning and development role within the domiciliary or healthcare sector.

- Recognised training or teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent).

- In-depth understanding of adult social care standards, safeguarding, and health & safety.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to travel across sites with flexibility.

- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
