Job summary

Galliford Try Group is seeking a part-time Training Coordinator in Romford to support development across the business. You will oversee training planning, execution, and record-keeping to ensure core competencies and business objectives are met.

The role covers the full lifecycle of training activities—from initial planning through to post-event follow-up, coordinating courses, liaising with delegates and suppliers, and producing monthly training reports.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a complex multi-contracted environment.
  • Experience of e-learning and other online methodologies.
  • Computer literate with knowledge/experience of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Involvement with external funding bodies and data processes would be useful.
  • Experience coordinating a team and supporting other team members.
  • Able to plan and organise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer care skills with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Able to work independently and in a team.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach.

Responsibilities

  • Organise and plan training courses and programmes.
  • Create and maintain competency records aligned with business requirements.
  • Liaise with delegates and suppliers, manage bookings and course details.
  • Raise and notify suppliers with purchase orders upon course confirmation.
  • Maintain learning records and generate monthly training reports.
  • Handle CITB Grant and Apprenticeship Levy admin tasks.
  • Prepare Joining Instructions accurately and on time.
  • Ensure renewal of competencies and certificates; renew as required.
  • Compile reports for audit and management information requirements.
  • Monitor course costs and update records after events.
  • Process and dispatch training certificates to delegates.
  • Follow up delayed or missing certificates with suppliers.
  • Produce reports for Senior Management on process, compliance and issues.
  • Manage confidential and sensitive information securely.

Role Overview

As a Training Coordinator, your role is crucial to supporting the development of individuals within the business as well as upholding the minimum levels of core competency. You will be at the heart of planning, executing, and delivering the training needs of the business. Your main goal is to make sure everything flows seamlessly, from coordinating training to keeping detailed records that display our competency requirements and business objectives. Your responsibility spans the entire lifecycle of training activities – from the initial planning stages right

through to the follow-up after the event.

What You Will be Doing:
  • Organise and plan training courses as required to include all types of training
  • Create and maintain competencies, in line with core competency requirements, reflecting the requirements of the business
  • Liaise with delegates and prospective delegates to acknowledge bookings and provide details about courses
  • Raise and notify supplier of purchase order numbers as soon as course has been confirmed
  • Create and maintain learning and training records with generation of monthly training reports.
  • CITB Grant and Apprenticeship Levy administrative tasks completed with agreed throughout the financial year
  • Accurate preparation and dispatch of Joining Instructions
  • Ensure renewal dates for existing competencies do not lapse and certificates are renewed as required
  • Compile reports and management information as directed for audit purposes
  • Check and update all course costs following training events
  • Check and process all training certificates
  • Ensure certificates are dispatched to the appropriate delegates
  • Follow up any delayed or missing certificates with the supplier
  • Prepare reports to keep Senior Management Teams informed with process, compliance & any arising issues within are of responsibility
  • Manage the provision of confidential and sensitive information
About You:
  • Experience of working in a complex multi-contracted environment
