Job summary

We are looking for someone to lead on the development, implementation and evaluation of innovations that support Education and Training in Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The innovations will enhance and enable learning for all SPFT staff and link to the online Learning Management System (LMS) for essential Mandatory and Statutory Training (MAST).

We need someone to Lead in strategic planning for the introduction of new learning through the Trust Induction Programme and designing and editing of online resources for new starters to deliver best practice, supported through the Trust values and behaviours framework.

The postholder willlead/support theEducation and Training governance infrastructure and deliver to Trust Service Level Agreements, meeting relevant KPIs identified from service workforce plans.

To support at a strategic level the development of the Education and Training Annual Plan.

Main duties of the job

To support the project management of Education and Training initiatives such as the Trust Induction Programme and core training requirements from conception to completion.

Working alongside subject matter experts and key stakeholders at all levels to enhance Trust competencies.

To support the development and delivery of high-quality induction and core training across the Trust.

To inform the development and implementation of the Trust's educational strategies, educational policies and annual training plan.

To enhance the quality of existing programmes, through blended learning approaches and evidence-based evaluation of educational outcomes mapped to the Trust's core values and behaviours framework.

To work as part of an Education and Training team, including the setting of clear objectives and expectations

Undertake line management responsibilities, as appropriate within Education and Training

The Education and Training team are part of the wider Workforce Directorate in the trust. They are a small team with bases in East and West Sussex and have several teams/workstreams within the wider team which are Induction, the trust learning management system, MyLearning and Talent Management. They have a wide remit across the trust spanning across the professional and geographical area.

  • To work to department operational policy, procedures, data systems and strategy, that enable all Trust staff to deliver safe, effective, compassionate care through completion of a programme of core training, ensuring this contributes to business objectives and Trust vision.
  • To contribute to the production of and delivery of an annual training plan on behalf of the Education and Training department which is aligned to the vision and objectives of the wider organisation.
