The position of Training and Disability Support Officer in the Faculty of Law is an exciting new opportunity to take a crucial role in the development and implementation of the Faculty of Law's new mentoring scheme and training programme as part of our broader strategic aims. The postholder will also support the Faculty Staff Disability Advisor (HR Manager); and help to define and implement a positive workplace culture at the Law Faculty. The Training and Disability Support Officer will report to the Faculty of Law’s HR Manager and be part of the Faculty’s HR Team, working with our HR Officer and HR Assistant.
Applicants must have experience of leading or supporting a comparable training programme, or running/managing a mentoring scheme; or equivalent team-building and staff development experience; experience of providing disability-related support or an awareness of issues affecting disabled people in the workplace; experience of delivering effective help and advice to support Line Managers in their management and leadership roles; able to clearly and accurately communicate University HR processes, policies and procedures in person, orally and in writing to a diverse range of staff with a range of different responsibilities and levels of experience; strong interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy, able to deal with highly sensitive personnel information and to speak to staff about potentially difficult issues.
It is desirable for candidates to be educated to degree level, or an equivalent professional qualification (e.g. CIPD Level 3) and understand how training fits into the overall agenda of continuous improvement, and the professional and personal development of the Professional Support Staff team.
The post is permanent and full time. However, part time and job shares will be considered. You will be based in the Faculty of Law, St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford, OX1 3UL. The Law Faculty supports hybrid working and currently requires all staff to be on site at least 40% of their working week.
