The Training Administrator will co-ordinate, schedule and administer training and development activities, develop the annual training programme, liaise with and arrange training providers, and coordinate and manage training events for the John Innes Centre, The Sainsbury Laboratory, Quadram Institute Bioscience, Earlham Institute, and NBI Partnership. They will also assist the wider HR Team with training and development initiatives.

Key Relationships

Internal: Managers, Staff, PhD Students, the Graduate Schools Office, and the HR team.

External: Training Providers, UEA, and other Research Institutes.

Specialist Knowledge & Skills

Requirement: Excellent reporting skills. Proficient with standard MS Office applications as well as HR and training databases. Understanding of (scientific) training methods and types. Experience of using technology to support training delivery, online, hybrid, and audiovisual equipment.

Relevant Experience

Requirement: Significant experience of working in a similar administrative role, supporting multiple customers. Experience working with external training providers. Experience working as part of an HR/Training/Development Team. Successful organization of high-frequency events.

Interpersonal & Communication Skills

Requirement: Ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and customers. Excellent time management and organizational skills. A strong team player but capable of acting on own initiative and offering new ideas. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good analytical skills. Proactive, flexible, and resilient approach.
