The CQC were established under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as an independent regulator. The CQC is responsible for the registration, inspection and monitoring of health and social care providers. HATS Group are a provider of Private Ambulances, and this is an activity regulated by the CQC.

HATS Group are also regulated by Local Authorities for services delivered under SEND. HATS Group is recognized for professionalism, excellence, and a fleet of over 800 vehicles, we support various public and private healthcare institutions, delivering over 2,000,000 passenger movements annually.

We have an opportunity for an Trainer to join our team.

Job purpose: Within HATS, the Training Team are central to the organisation as it is essential we have safe, engaged and motivated colleagues working to the operating procedures we have in place. It is of paramount importance due to the type of work we are undertaking, transporting vulnerable adults and children in vehicles and all of the associated safeguarding responsibilities. We need safe and trustworthy colleagues who can support HATS operations and deliver the highest standards to anyone using our services. It is the training team who set the standards for new colleagues to work to.

Reporting into the Group Training Manager, you will be responsible for training colleagues and ensuring they meet the standards the company needs. As this is a fast paced industry, changes happen quickly. Therefore being able to adapt will be essential to the role.

Whilst the training is mainly carried out from one of our Training sites, there will be a need to travel, sometimes at short notice. For more advanced clinical courses there is a need to be trained to a higher skill level and have more experience in a pre-hospital care environment.

Reports to: Training Manager

Other Relationships: Training academy team members , recruitment team, HR and Trainees .

About The Role

Key Responsibilities :

  • You will need to be Ofqual accredited and be compliant in the delivery of nationally recognised industry qualifications or be able to be registered to an Ofqual registered awarding body.
  • You will need to be able to work with a wide range of people from different backgrounds and with different learning styles
  • You will work to support and develop colleagues to achieve the required standard
  • You will be able to give feedback and coach people to achieve the required standards
  • You will be proactive and flexible in the delivery of every course offered to learners
  • It is essential that you maintain your own CPD in order to stay competent, credible and qualified
  • Act with honesty and integrity
  • Act professionally to maintain and promote the Academy’s core values.
  • Be prepared to progress clinically to higher skill levels
  • Work in line with the Academy’s policies and procedures
  • Report any breaches of HATS group policies as soon as possible
  • Be prepared to work in an operational setting carrying out field based competency assessments on ambulance operations

Desired Criteria

  • Assessing Qualification (or prepared to work towards one)
  • Proven experience of delivering first aid and/or health and safety courses
  • Ability to use Microsoft applications at intermediate level
  • An understanding of HATS Group activities, courses, values, mission and vision
  • Ability in communicating to all learners being aware of EDI and customer experience
  • Physically able to complete at least two cycles of CPR on a manikin on the floor

Required Criteria

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Grade C/4) inc. Math & English
  • Level 3 Certificate in Teaching or Training or Equivalent
  • Relevant valid course specific qualification
  • Experience of teaching, coaching, assessing and/or presenting to groups of adults
  • Experience of working effectively as part of a team
  • Experience of working on own initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Ability to be engaging and professional in a teaching/assessing context
  • Ability to work on own initiative, as part of a team and under direction from Line Manager
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, H2s, PTS and customers (verbal, written and using electronic communications)
