We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail-ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers, and hand-selected by our master butchers. Are you an experienced Trainer who wants to make a difference to our new staff members?

We are recruiting for a Trainer in our Slaughter Department. This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week with a competitive salary.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Training all new starters and maintaining competency levels of current Slaughter Operatives, ensuring consistency and compliance with client specifications and company SOPs.
  2. Conducting departmental inductions for new Slaughter Operatives, including PPE requirements, knife safety, quality standards, SOPs, and customer specifications.
  3. Monitoring and encouraging compliance with PPE, knife safety, quality standards, SOPs, and customer specifications among current staff.
  4. Maintaining knowledge of customer specifications and yields.
  5. Rolling out specification changes or new requirements to all Slaughter line Operatives, ensuring understanding and compliance.
  6. Assisting in managing daily production targets and suggesting resourcing solutions.
  7. Performing slaughter and finishing tasks at line speed.
  8. Participating in Lean Manufacturing processes and embracing new working methods.
  9. Completing tasks to meet daily yield targets and reporting issues immediately.
  10. Ensuring product quality and readiness, including checks and safety procedures.
  11. Reporting equipment issues and participating in investigations of accidents or near misses.
  12. Minimizing waste and maintaining tools and equipment.
  13. Participating in company training and assisting in performance and talent identification.
  14. Performing other duties as instructed by management.
