Job summary

Barking & Dagenham College are recruiting for a Trainer Coach - Electrical on a full time, permanent basis. The role focuses on delivery, updating and development of apprenticeship standards and monitoring apprentices to achieve positive outcomes.

The ideal candidate will hold NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical and/or JIB Gold card/ Eng-Tech status, with experience teaching apprentices. Driving licence is required for on-site visits. Salary £39,319-£41,521 per year, London Weighting included.

Are you a current Trainer Coach - Electrical looking to work in a supportive, forward-thinking College?

Barking & Dagenham College are recruiting for a Trainer Coach - Electrical to join our team on a full time, permanent basis.

The salary scale for this role is £39,319 - £41,521 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, depending on qualifications and experience.

The Trainer Coach - Electrical Role:

The Apprenticeship Trainer Coach is part of the training and delivery team and is responsible for delivery, updating and development of apprenticeship standards and related training, monitoring and supporting apprentices to complete their training with positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities of our Trainer Coach - Electrical role:
  • Assessing Level 3 Electrical Installation apprentices in their workplaces, carrying out progress reviews, and portfolio workshops on campus.
  • Support the curriculum design for relevant apprenticeship standards and work related training within the curriculum area.
  • Support the development of the relevant planning and teaching resources including course outline; scheme of work; lesson plans; learning resources including on line
  • Coach apprentices in line with the apprenticeships standards, core skills and work related training.
  • Visit and actively support apprentices within the workplace supporting their progress.
  • Complete and maintain all apprenticeships reports, assessment forms, and other relevant documentation, as required.
Our ideal Trainer Coach - Electrical

As an Assessor, you must be able to demonstrate in your application that you are able to provide evidence of holding a relevant electrotechnical NVQ L3* and/or having registration with the JIB as ‘Approved Electrician’ status or Eng-Tech status via the IET.' You will need to hold:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical
    • and or JIB Gold card with Approved Electrician status
    • and or IET Eng-Tech status but it’s noted from an electrical perspective (not engineering)
  • Experience working with a training provider teaching/assessing apprentices.
  • It is desirable that the successful candidate will hold a Teaching qualification.
  • Must hold Driving Licence due to the need to visit Apprentices on site.

All applicants should have good administrative skills and be able to accurately track apprentices' attendance, progress and achievements.
