Job description

Fulbridge Social Care is recruiting Experienced and Trainee Residential Youth Workers to join our casual team in children’s residential homes and Independent Living settings. We are seeking flexible, reliable, and interactive individuals who want to work in a specialist environment with full training and qualifications provided.

The role involves providing security, guidance, interaction, and support to young people with challenging behavior and complex needs, aiming to create an environment that supports their intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional development.

You will work with young people aged 11 to 18 who are in the care system for various reasons and have diverse disorders, behaviors, and needs. Candidates should have the confidence, patience, and skills to work successfully with these young people and positively influence their lives.

Responsibilities include supporting young people with daily tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, education, and shopping. You will also interact with professionals like Social Workers, Probation Officers, and Police Officers, and support young people in environments like classrooms, courts, and police stations.

A valid driving license is essential, as you will be required to drive the unit car and transport young people to destinations such as family contacts, school, and social activities.

Applicants must complete an enhanced DBS check with Fulbridge Social Care and successfully complete an induction program before placements are offered.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. Build strong professional relationships with service users and staff
  2. Maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for young people and staff
  3. Keep up to date with communication and information systems
  4. Participate actively in meetings
  5. Support young people in managing their behavior using approved skills
  6. Promote equality and acknowledge individual differences
  7. Protect service users from abuse from staff, visitors, or other service users
  8. Write accurate reports and maintain records for monitoring purposes
  9. Attend all required training and achieve relevant qualifications
  10. Attend work reliably and punctually, following a set shift pattern
  11. Stay updated with procedures and policy changes
  12. Ensure health and safety of yourself and others
  13. Undertake any other relevant duties as required
