Job description

Fulbridge Social Care is recruiting non-experienced Trainee Residential Youth Workers to join our casual team. The role involves working in children’s residential homes and Independent Living settings. We are seeking flexible, reliable, and interactive individuals interested in working within a specialist environment where full training and qualifications, including Team Teach, Child Protection, and Working with Self Harm, are provided to the right candidates.

The position involves providing security, guidance, interaction, and support to young people with challenging behavior and complex needs in residential or independent living settings. The goal is to create an environment that caters to the young person's intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional needs.

You will work with young people aged 11 to 18 who are in the care system for various reasons and have diverse disorders, behaviors, and needs. Candidates should have the confidence, patience, and skill set to work successfully with these young people and positively impact their lives.

As part of your role, you will support young people throughout the day with tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, education, and shopping. You will also interact with professionals like Social Workers, Probation Officers, and Police Officers, supporting young people in environments such as classrooms, courts, and police stations.

A valid driving license is essential, as you will be required to drive the unit car and transport young people to destinations like family contacts, school, and social activities.

Please note that you will need to complete an enhanced DBS check with Fulbridge Social Care and successfully complete one of our induction programs before placements are offered.

  • Keep all communication and information systems up to date
  • Participate actively in meetings
  • Support young people in managing their behavior using approved skills
  • Promote equality and acknowledge individual differences
  • Protect service users from abuse by staff, visitors, or other service users
  • Write accurate reports for reviews and maintain records for monitoring
  • Attend all required training and achieve relevant qualifications
  • Attend work reliably and punctually, following shift patterns
  • Stay updated with procedures and policy changes
  • Ensure health and safety for yourself and others
  • Undertake additional duties relevant to the role
