Fulbridge Social Care is recruiting experienced and trainee Residential Youth Workers to join our casual team. The role involves working in children’s residential homes and independent living settings. We seek flexible, reliable, and interactive individuals eager to work in a specialist environment where full training and qualifications are provided.

The position involves providing security, guidance, interaction, and support to young people with challenging behavior and complex needs within residential or independent living environments. The goal is to create an environment that caters to the young person's intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional needs.

You will work with young people aged 11 to 18 who are in the care system for various reasons and have diverse disorders, behaviors, and needs. Therefore, confidence, patience, and the right skill set are essential to make a positive impact on their lives.

In this role, you will support young people throughout the day with tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, education, and shopping. Interaction with professionals like social workers, probation officers, and police officers is also required, supporting young people in environments like classrooms, courts, and police stations.

A driving license is essential, as you will need to drive the unit car and transport young people to destinations such as family contacts, school, and social activities.

Please note that you will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check with Fulbridge Social Care and successfully finish one of our induction programs before placements are offered.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  3. Keep all communication and information systems up to date.
  4. Participate actively in meetings.
  5. Support young people in managing their behavior using approved skills.
  6. Promote equality, acknowledging individual differences.
  7. Protect service users from abuse by staff, visitors, or other service users.
  8. Write accurate reports for reviews and maintain records for monitoring.
  9. Attend all required training and achieve relevant qualifications.
  10. Attend work reliably and punctually, following a set shift pattern.
  11. Stay updated with procedures and policy changes.
  12. Ensure health and safety for yourself and others.
  13. Undertake additional duties relevant to the role as needed.
