Job Purpose
To survey, disassemble, repair, evaluate, assemble, and test various STATS tools and equipment, operating tools safely to ensure quality products. The role is suitable for a third-year apprentice or recent graduate with electrical/mechanical experience.

Main Responsibilities
- Support in surveying, disassembling, repairing, evaluating, assembling, and testing tools/equipment according to STATS standards.
- Maintain high quality standards for products and services.
- Work safely to protect colleagues, visitors, and clients.
- Move materials/equipment within the shop.
- Report defects to the Workshop Supervisor.
- Ensure drawings, procedures, and instructions are up-to-date before work.
- Propose and implement new assembly and testing techniques to improve safety and productivity.
- Liaise with the Senior Technician on issues.
- Report environmental, health, and safety issues.
- Adhere to STATS standards and procedures.
- Participate in environmental, health, and safety initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Workshop Supervisor.
- Assist in creating risk assessments as needed.
- Coordinate with the Workshop Supervisor and Team Leader on material and project issues.
- Contribute to safety equipment improvements.
- Maintain stock levels and material traceability.
Individual Quality and Safety Responsibilities
- Follow STATS and client quality, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Report accidents, incidents, hazards immediately and complete relevant paperwork.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
- Understanding of engineering drawings, terminology, assembly, and pressure testing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Safe use of assembly and testing equipment and tools.
- Proficiency with inspection equipment.
- Knowledge of assembly and testing methods.
- Ability to work independently and plan assembly/testing processes.
Qualifications
- Mechanical trade qualification with understanding of assembly and pressure testing techniques.
- Completion of SVQ Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations and National Certification, or working towards HNC.
