Job summary

Optima UK INC Ltd in Leicester is seeking a motivated Trainee Wood Machinist to join their specialist workshop. This full-time role offers full training to develop into a skilled Wood Machinist, with hands-on experience on high-end joinery and interiors projects.

You will learn to prepare timber and board materials, operate a range of woodworking machinery under seasoned mentors, and contribute to production targets in a supportive team.

• No previous woodworking or machining experience required – full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist with woodworking and machining processes under skilled craftsmen
• Prepare timber, sheet materials, and other woodworking materials for machining
• Measure and mark materials accurately according to drawings and specifications
• Learn to safely operate a range of woodworking machinery and hand tools
• Assist with cutting, shaping, drilling, routing, planing, and moulding timber components
• Follow technical drawings, measurements, and instructions
• Carry out quality checks to ensure components meet required standards
• Assist with setting up machinery and preparing materials for production
• Maintain tools, machinery, and the work area in a clean and safe condition
• Follow all company health and safety procedures
• Work as part of a skilled manufacturing team to meet production requirements
