Job summary

SMS Environmental Ltd. is seeking a Trainee Water Hygiene Engineer in Oxfordshire. No previous water hygiene experience is required as full training will be provided. You will work with experienced engineers to learn safe water management across customer sites and gain hands-on, practical skills.

Role focuses on monitoring, cleaning, inspecting and reporting, with a path to progression in a specialist field. Ideal for practical, customer-focused individuals with a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• An interest in practical, hands-on work.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Confidence using an iPad or similar technology.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Experience in plumbing, construction, maintenance or a similar practical role is beneficial, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor water temperatures and flush water systems.
• Clean and disinfect shower heads.
• Inspect and clean water storage tanks.
• Inspect and maintain Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs).
• Record work using an iPad and digital reporting software.
• Follow health and safety procedures and deliver excellent customer service.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday
