Job summary

AWD online advertises a Trainee Site Operative role at Chiltern Thrust Bore, Olney. You will receive full training in trenchless technology and travel nationwide to project sites. The role aims to develop skills toward becoming a skilled Driller and Auger Bore Operator.

Essential qualities include a driving licence, willingness to travel, safety awareness and a can-do attitude. Company training is provided, with 28 days holiday and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• Full valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and stay away from home.
• Flexibility to work nights or weekends when required.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn a specialist trade.
• Technical aptitude and interest in practical, hands-on work.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken.
• CSCS/CPCS card obtained at own expense if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Support trenchless projects by assisting the team with HDD, auger boring and site activities.
• Complete in‑house and off‑site training to develop drilling and auger bore skills.
• Assist lead drillers and coworkers to safely complete project tasks.
• Follow safe working practices and health and safety standards on site.
• Travel with the Olney team to UK project locations and stay away when required.
• Build knowledge of equipment, methods and trenchless technology through training.
• Contribute as a reliable member of the site team in a physically active role.
