Trainee Transport Planner

Menzies Distribution Solutions are looking for an Trainee Transport Planner to join us, providing a first class service with our team in Coalville. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to train on how to Transport Plan for a busy 3PL company solely working with Class 1 vehicles, using various different systems

The Details:

• Monday-Friday
• Monthly Pay
• Parking Onsite

Trainee Transport Planner Duties:

• Maintenance and Management of the Transport Management System (TMS).
• Ensure effective and efficient use of driver and vehicle resources.
• Ensuring customer requirements are administered.
• Liaise, support and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers
• Promote effective and efficient standards of work, in order to comply with transport legislation, company policy and Health & Safety legislation.
• Managing Driver hours, WTD rules.
• Preparing and submitting various KPI reports.
• Undertake any other duties that are reasonably requested.

Trainee Transport Planner Requirements:

• 'Right To Work' in the UK
• Good communication skills are essential with the ability to express empathy with customers
• Excellent written and verbal skills are essential.
• Experience resolving disputes in a fair and calm manner and be able to identify issues, which could potentially become problematic and avoid situations arising.
• Strong geographical knowledge
• Knowledge of transport systems.
• Good 'people skills' for working with a range of colleagues and customers.
• Ability to work on own initiative, demonstrates organisational skills.
• Commitment to role and site objectives.
• Always strive to improve personally and professionally.
