University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust seeks experienced healthcare practitioners for Advanced Clinical Practitioner roles in the Hospital Out of Hours team. Candidates will provide high-quality patient care and need strong interpersonal skills. Opportunities for professional and leadership development are available.
Are you a current registered healthcare practitioner with significant post registration experience in an acute setting (5 years or more)? If so, further exciting opportunities have become available to join our growing team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) based within the Hospital Out of Hours (HOOH) team in University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB). This will currently be based within the HOOH team at the Royal Derby Hospital.
Advanced clinical practice is well established at UHDB and is seen as integral to the delivery of high quality and safe patient care across the Trust. We have a well-established leadership structure to support ACPs. If successful, you would be joining an extremely progressive team which continues to develop to meet the needs of our patients.
We are looking for practitioners who demonstrate a suitability for and commitment to advanced clinical practice. These individuals will need to demonstrate that they are highly motivated, patient focused and exhibit a passion for clinical practice. You will need a mature and professional attitude to working with other people and have the ability to make and maintain good working relationships. The role gives the practitioner the opportunity for autonomous practice with the reassurance of a senior clinician led team for support and guidance if needed
If applying for a qualified ACP position you will be required to demonstrate all of the above characteristics along with your level of practice through a portfolio of evidence and will be asked to work a period of observed clinical practice.
If applying as a trainee ACP, you will also need to demonstrate the above characteristics. Your learning needs will be assessed individually, and you will equally be supported through appropriate academic and clinical training pathways to achieve UHDB qualified ACP status. For the majority of trainees, this will be via the level 7 apprenticeship in advanced clinical practice and therefore you will need evidence of level 2 Maths and English.
