Job summary

SRL Traffic Systems is seeking a Trainee Traffic Systems Technician for field-based work across the UK. This role is ideal for practical individuals who are physically fit and eager to develop hands-on technical skills; no industry experience is required beyond a valid UK driving licence.

You will join a leading provider of portable traffic lights and intelligent transport solutions. You'll train on-site, gain experience installing, configuring, and maintaining equipment, and support the team in

Responsibilities

• Deliver, set up, and configure portable traffic light systems at customer sites
• Carry out on-site battery exchanges to keep equipment operational
• Inspect, repair, and maintain hire fleet equipment in the depot
• Load, unload, and transport equipment safely using a company vehicle
• Keep accurate records using mobile technology and internal systems
• Provide excellent customer service, ensuring equipment is installed safely and correctly
• Participate in on-call rota and support out-of-hours situations

We are looking for a Trainee Traffic Systems Technician to join SRL Traffic Systems, the UK leader in portable traffic lights, temporary traffic management equipment, and intelligent transport technology. This role is ideal for someone practical, physically fit, and eager to build technical skills. No industry experience is needed, just a full UK driving licence and a willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities

In this hands-on, field-based role, you will:

• Deliver, set up, and configure portable traffic light systems at customer sites
• Carry out on-site battery exchanges to keep equipment fully operational
• Inspect, repair, and maintain hire fleet equipment in the depot
• Load, unload, and transport equipment safely using a company vehicle
• Keep accurate records using mobile technology and internal systems
• Provide excellent customer service, ensuring equipment is installed safely and correctly
• Participate in on-call rota and offer support during out-of-hours situations

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, overtime, on-call rota. Environment: Outdoor, physical work in all weather conditions.

Must-Have Qualifications & Requirements

To be shortlisted, candidates must meet the following:

• Practical, safety-focused, and reliable

Desirable (not essential)

• Basic electrical knowledge
• Experience driving vans or towing trailers
