This is a permanent, full-time vacancy that will close in 18 days at 12:00 BST.

The Vacancy

We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Traffic Operator to join our successful Transport department based in Birmingham. As a Trainee Traffic Operator, you will be trained to support our Traffic Operators / Planners with daily operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Booking containers in and out of the yard, maintaining politeness and courtesy
  • Entering release/acceptance information accurately and timely into the system
  • Auditing release/acceptances for accuracy
  • Recording container numbers correctly in and out of the system
  • Utilising CCTV during booking in/out for recording purposes
  • Seeking additional work opportunities from customers and management
  • Communicating effectively with customers, understanding requirements, and providing accurate information
  • Working effectively within a team
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and environment
  • Adhering to health and safety standards and reporting concerns
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience in transport or similar environment (preferred but not essential)
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Personable with good teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail
