Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer Oxfordshire, United Kingdom (On-site)

Join our Engineering Team at Telent to innovate and develop solutions, working closely with technical experts to make a significant impact. Be part of a high-performing team maintaining the nation’s critical infrastructure around the clock.

Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer will collaborate with Traffic Signals specialists in Oxfordshire. Due to growth, we are expanding our Traffic team in this region.

What you’ll do:

Work alongside experienced Traffic Engineers to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and test Traffic Signals, Traffic Lights, and related electrical equipment in Oxfordshire.

Training combines on-the-job experience with opportunities to earn an NVQ in Electrical Installations and certifications like ECS and NHSS Chapter 8.

Who you are:

Interested in electrical troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance, with some exposure to electrical systems, outdoor lighting, CCTV, controllers, detection boxes, or telecommunications/radio equipment, via coursework or experience.

Key Requirements:
  • Motivated and eager to learn both on the job and online
  • Experience or qualification in electrical testing, maintenance, or installation
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
  • Full UK Driving Licence and residence in Oxfordshire
  • Willing to undertake a Drugs & Alcohol test for compliance
