Trainee Traffic Installation Technician Gloucestershire, United Kingdom (On-site)

Telent is looking for a Trainee Traffic Installation Technician to join our team of Traffic Signals / Traffic Lighting specialists in Gloucestershire. Due to growth and customer demand, we are expanding our Traffic team in this region. This is a field-based role; the successful candidate must hold a full UK driving license and be willing to travel across the region and work in all weather conditions.

Do you hold an Electrical Engineering (or similar) Diploma / Certificate and want to start a new career? Are you interested in an accredited, structured training program to enhance your skills?

Responsibilities of Trainee Traffic Installation Technician:

Work closely with experienced Traffic Engineers to install, maintain, and test Traffic Signals / Traffic Lighting units and electrical components in Gloucestershire. Training includes classroom, on-the-job, desk-based, and online learning, progressing towards NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Highways Electrical Installations (LANTRA), and certifications like ECS and NHSS Chapter 8.

Ideal Candidate:

Interest in field-based engineering, with some exposure to electrical installations or related coursework. No experience? We encourage eager learners to apply.

Key Requirements:

  • Motivation and willingness to learn
  • Experience or qualification in electrical installations or related field
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Good communication skills and computer literacy
  • Willingness to undertake drugs & alcohol testing
