Job summary

Bolton Council invites applications for a Trainee Trading Standards Officer to help tackle illicit tobacco, vaping products and other illegal goods in the Borough. You will train within Bolton Trading Standards and join a team dedicated to protecting residents and legitimate businesses.

The role involves flexible hours, potential evenings/weekends, full driving licence and DBS. You will undertake a Level 6 apprenticeship in Trading Standards and complete essential qualifications including

Qualifications

• Interest in learning all aspects of trading standards, including investigating and disrupting criminal activity.
• Flexible to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Able to travel around the borough with a valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Train and help tackle illegal trade issues in Bolton.
• Disrupt illegal trade using traditional and alternative investigation methods.
• Collaborate with other agencies to protect the public and businesses.
