We wish to recruit a Trainee Timber Machinist for our Sawmill Production area based in Newry. This is for someone looking to learn and develop into becoming a fully competent wood machinist within a professional manufacturing environment within one of the UK and Ireland's leading independent merchants. The successful person will be trained by experienced machinists to safely operate and maintain precision wood moulding machinery whilst producing high-quality profiles for a wide range of timber products.

Key responsibilities of a Trainee Timber Machinist will include:

  • Interpret and work from technical profile drawings to produce accurate moulded products.
  • Working to achieve allocated KPI's and Efficiencies
  • Assist with basic machine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and routine checks, reporting faults promptly.
  • Ensuring health and safety standards in the department are met
  • Keeping a high standard of housekeeping
