Job summary

Trexon in Aberdeen is seeking a motivated Trainee Technician to learn in our Production workshop. You will work under supervision, reading engineering drawings, assisting with assembly, termination, and testing while adhering to ISO9001 procedures.

The role involves fibre optic handling, soldering where needed, and on-site visits to assist customers. A proactive, team-minded individual with basic maths is encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• National 5 in Mathematics or equivalent required.
• Two years of workshop experience.
• Soldering involvement preferred but not essential.
• Experience with fibre optics.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts supplied in kit form as per engineering drawings.
• Prepare supplied parts for termination and encapsulation.
• Carry out electrical terminations and splices through soldering and mechanical processes.
• Carry out Fibre Optic terminations in line with the defined processes.
• Mixing and casting of a variety of Polyurethane, Polyethylene, and epoxy resins.
• Interpret technical engineering drawings to manufacture in line with process specifications.
• Manufacture of connectors and connector inserts from raw components.
• Handle and store chemicals for cleaning, priming, and moulding strictly adhering to health and safety procedures.
• Attend on-site, both UK and abroad, to assist customers with installation, testing and monitoring of applications.
• Test products and accurately record and document results.
• Maintain all machinery and equipment to proper standards on a regular basis.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices to ensure the working environment is always customer friendly.
• Assist with training and job or product awareness for other staff within the Group.
• Maintain the Group management behaviours practices and equal opportunity policy.

Qualifications

Education:

• National 5 in Mathematics or equivalent.

Experience
