Job description

Join Us as a Trainee Special Educational Needs (SEND) Teaching Assistant in North Tyneside

Looking to start a career where you can make a real difference? We’re looking for compassionate, motivated people to join us as Trainee SEND Teaching Assistants in North Tyneside. You don’t need formal experience—just the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and a passion for helping children grow in confidence and independence.

This is a brilliant opportunity to work closely with children who need extra support to achieve their best. You’ll be part of a supportive team that helps pupils overcome challenges, build skills, and feel proud of their progress.

Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who’s ready to start their journey in education. You might have worked with children before—or this might be your first step into this kind of role. Either way, if you’ve got patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help children succeed, we want to hear from you. Relevant qualifications or training are helpful, but not essential—we’ll help you build the skills you need.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working one-to-one and in small groups to support pupils with additional needs

  • Helping create positive routines, building trust, and encouraging confidence

  • Supporting teachers in adapting activities to meet each pupil’s individual needs

  • Being part of a team that believes kindness, patience, and consistency change lives

Why start your career with Protocol Education?

  • Weekly pay through PAYE—fair, transparent, and reliable

  • Free access to CPD and SEND-specific training to help you grow

  • Friendly, personalised support from your own dedicated consultant

  • Opportunities for progression into long-term roles and further training

  • Referral rewards if you recommend friends to join us too

If you’re ready to start a meaningful career and help shape brighter futures for children with additional needs, apply now—we’d love to hear from you.

Together, let’s help children achieve more than they thought possible.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
