This incredible setting is looking for a dedicated Trainee Teacher/ 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our team and help learners achieve meaningful and beneficial outcomes through personalised learning opportunities.

What you will earn and hours
  • Salary: £23,000 per annum
  • Hours: Term time only/ Monday to Friday, 08:45am - 4:45pm
About the setting

This award winning setting is a specialist day school for autistic children and young people between the ages of 4-18 years. This specialist setting is committed to empowering individuals to make positive, personal choices that enhance their wellbeing, social inclusion and education. Since 2012, this setting has provided a safe and supportive environment, where learners work closely with the skilled 1:1 teaching assistants/trainee teachers to achieve their educational and personal development goals.

Role focus

In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting learners to build confidence, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and education goals. Each learner follows a bespoke learning plan, designed around their unique skills, educational needs, and preferences. You will work closely with families and health & social care professionals to ensure that every learner receives the best possible support tailored to their aspirations and needs.

This setting boasts a modern site and exceptional facilities including a fully equipped kitchen, sensory room, onsite gym, horticultural tunnels, cafe and IT workshops to name a few.

Trainee teacher programme

The trainee teacher programme is an exciting opportunity for those keen to take the next steps in their education career. This is a 2 year programme, where you start as a 1:1 TA and in the 2 years receive the training and support to qualify as a specialist Autism teacher.
