Here at Shropshire Community Leisure Trust, our goal is to get more people active by providing affordable, safe, and enjoyable lessons for all. We are currently looking to train a new cohort of Swimming Teachers to expand our programs and ensure access for everyone, regardless of ability or background. If you're interested in starting a Swimming Teacher career and obtaining your qualification through our upcoming course (dates TBC), you must be available to attend all 5 consecutive days.
We follow the proven Swim England learn-to-swim framework, developing confidence in swimmers through fun and enjoyable lessons. Many of our swimmers have progressed to competitive swimming and even representing our country.
As a swimming teacher, you'll deliver safe, fun, and progressive lessons, embodying our mentality of fostering careers and personal development. We offer flexible contracts tailored to your commitments, cover your safeguarding and DBS checks, and provide insurance coverage. Working with us also grants access to all our leisure centres and ongoing training opportunities.
All teachers receive a free membership for themselves and a friend or family member, reflecting our shared passion for leisure and excellent service.
As a swimming teacher, you'll interact extensively with customers, utilizing your communication and customer service skills to support individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
Passion for swimming and delivering quality service are essential, along with motivation and organizational skills to provide safe, enjoyable, and progressive lessons. Enthusiasm is key; we will provide the necessary training and qualification.
You must be available to work evenings and weekends from April and willing to complete a lifesaving qualification (NRASTC or NPLQ).
This role requires a DBS check.
