Job Opportunity at Liverpool Hope University

Liverpool Hope University is seeking to fill a position within the Governance and Legal Service team. The role is open to either a Trainee Solicitor (including Solicitor's Qualifying Experience) or a qualified Junior Solicitor.

The successful candidate will join a small, friendly team handling a variety of legal and regulatory matters, such as student complaints, misconduct, and compliance with the Office for Students. Most legal cases are managed in-house, with responsibilities including litigation, contract, and property matters, depending on experience and qualification.

The role also involves supporting data protection, advising on the Equality Act, assisting with Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests, drafting university policies, and attending university committees. The work is diverse, engaging, and rewarding.

Candidate Requirements
  • If applying as a Trainee Solicitor/Solicitors Qualifying Work Experience candidate: Law degree or equivalent, preferably with LPC or Solicitors' Qualifying Examination in progress or completed.
  • If applying as a Junior Solicitor: Qualified to practice as a solicitor or barrister in England and Wales.
