Job summary

Capital Law Limited in Cardiff invites applications for a two-year training contract beginning in 2028. As a trainee solicitor, you will receive first‑class training, and rotate across four six‑month seats in Commercial Disputes, Corporate & Debt, Real Estate, and Employment & Immigration with a dedicated mentor in each seat.

The program includes an induction, workshops and networking events to help you develop commercial awareness and professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through four six‑month seats across practice areas such as Commercial Disputes, Corporate & Debt, Commercial & Regulatory, Real Estate and Employment & Immigration.
• Receive hands‑on experience with complex cases, supported by a mentor and supervisor in each seat.
• Take part in workshops, group activities, presentations and networking events to build relationships across the firm.

Our comprehensive two‑year training contract is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and commercial awareness necessary to excel as a solicitor. Your journey begins with our tailored Trainee Induction Programme, designed to maximise your potential and set you up for success.

What can you expect?

During your training contract, you’ll rotate through four six‑month seats across different practice areas, giving you a well‑rounded experience and the opportunity to discover where your passion lies. You’ll gain hands‑on experience working on complex cases and projects, supported by a dedicated mentor and supervisor in each seat. Your rotations may include areas such as:

• Commercial Disputes
• Corporate & Debt
• Commercial & Regulatory
• Real Estate
• Employment & Immigration

While we try to accommodate your preferences, seat allocation is determined by business needs and availability.

Alongside your day‑to‑day work, you’ll participate in workshops, group activities, presentations, and networking events, helping you build strong relationships across the firm. You’ll also develop key skills through tailored training sessions and engage with colleagues at all levels.

Who can apply?

• Final‑year students
• LPC graduates are eligible to apply only if they meet the SRA's transitional arrangements for the LPC route.
• Candidates on the SQE route

If you’re applying via the LPC or SQE route, you must have passed the LPC or SQE1 before the start of your training contract.
