We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals who have, or will have, successfully completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and ready to commence work full time by 1 September 2025, and who are passionate and committed to the prospect of working in Local Government.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake the Professional Skills Course (PSC) during the 2 year training period. The Council will pay for the successful candidate’s first attempt of the PSC.

We are particularly interested in candidates with a 2:1 law degree or above (or equivalent) (or a degree in any discipline at 2:1 or above (or equivalent) and the Graduate Diploma in Law with commendation or above) and the LPC with commendation or above (unless exempted). In the event of a high volume of applicants the Council will shortlist candidates meeting this criteria.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview at Wakefield One, Wakefield (provisionally 23rd and 24th July 2025). Interviews will comprise an assessment, presentation and panel interview.

The post is hybrid including office-based working at Wakefield One in Wakefield and home-based working.
