Roberts Mart is seeking a production operative to operate slitting machines within a busy print environment. The role requires adherence to health & safety regulations and quality standards, with a focus on right-first-time output and KPI achievement.

You will prioritise work, complete required paperwork, and ensure the workflow aligns with the daily production schedule. The role demands reliability, teamwork, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Previous experience in production environment and roles is essential.
• Exposure to quality, health, safety and environmental standards and practices within a production setting.
• Previous experience with lean manufacturing, i.e., 5S preferred.
• Reliable, motivated, and enthusiastic about producing a quality finished product to customer specifications.
• Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and the capacity to work to demanding deadlines.
• Demonstrate being able to work as part of a team and be able to manage workload, operate machinery to allocated schedules without direction.
• Be keen to learn new skills and be able to demonstrate a flexible attitude.
• Have a high level of attention to detail, including numeracy skills.
• Demonstrate personal accountability and have a ‘right first time’ approach.

Responsibilities

• Operate one of the company’s slitting machines, producing work right first time to customer specifications and KPIs.
• Ability to operate all machines within the dept.
• Prioritise and organise slitting jobs in line with the production schedule.
• Use the correct works ticket prior to slitting and ensure documentation is completed.
• Understand the Radius system and its use in production.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and obstruction-free working area.
• Communicate faults to Slitting/Conversion Manager or Shift Manager.
• Adhere to site health and safety, environmental and quality standards (BRC & ISO).
• Organise workload to meet daily print programme and customer requirements.
• Provide overtime cover as necessary and reasonable.
