Job summary

Farmfoods Ltd in Littlehampton is seeking a Trainee Shop Manager to join our team on a full-time basis (45 hours per week). The role offers structured training with progression toward a Level 4 Retail Manager apprenticeship and a starting salary of £32,648.16, increasing after six months based on KPIs.

You will lead a small shop team, manage day-to-day operations, and develop your management skills under the guidance of your Area Manager, with a clear path to full responsibility.

Qualifications

• Experience as a team leader or supervisor in retail, hospitality, or other customer-focused industry.
• Willingness to undertake Level 4 Retail Manager apprenticeship and training.

Responsibilities

• Be fully accountable for your shop and ensure customers are well looked after; complete shop routines to keep shop safe, clean and tidy.
• Motivate and guide your team to be as successful and efficient as possible.
• Lead by example and engage in day-to-day shop tasks in a busy retail environment.
• Control key costs including payroll, shrinkage and waste.
• Meet standards in customer service, cash handling, health & safety, stock management, merchandising and presentation.
• Take responsibility for recruitment, training and development of your team.
• Complete a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (Scotland) if hired for the position.
