About The Job

We are seeking a trainee electrical/mechanical technician to join the Pen Y Cymoedd (PYC) site team, part of Vattenfall’s Onshore Wind Operations UK in the Business Area Wind.

The Trainee Service Technician will gain experience in maintaining the site’s assets through daily scheduled and unscheduled activities, supporting the site operations team to optimize production safely.

Your responsibilities include:

• Supporting the PYC site team in managing activities via documented processes;
• Assisting technicians with turbine fault diagnosis, repair, and maintenance on the 3DD platform;
• Providing detailed reports of work activities in SAP systems;
• Supporting facilities management and administrative tasks as needed;
• Working towards defined KPIs for the PYC site;
• Performing work in accordance with safety rules and regulations, obtaining necessary authorizations;
• Contributing to the development of operational procedures and safety practices;
• Participating in out-of-hours responses and emergency plans;
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and manuals in the document management system.

Pen Y Cymoedd site, Treorchy, South Wales, UK.

Your profile

Qualifications:

• Technical background with a qualification or working towards NVQ3 in electrical/mechanical disciplines;
• Interest in renewable energy, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems;
• Ability to work in multicultural teams;
• Results-oriented with good communication skills;
• Comfortable working at heights and in adverse weather;
• Knowledge of HSE standards and industry practices;
• Full driving license;
• Reside within 45-minute commute to the site.
