Trainee Service Technician (night shift)

We are seeking an enthusiastic Trainee Service Technician to join our night shift team at our Logistics centre in Castle Donington, Derbyshire.

The Role:

As a Trainee Service Technician, you will ensure effective delivery and maintenance services to our customers. After training, your responsibilities will include product delivery, setup, repair, maintenance, and supporting customers in clinical environments.

Main responsibilities include:
  1. Delivering clean, ready-to-use products to customer sites
  2. Collecting products after use and returning them to the service centre
  3. Disinfecting, testing, repairing, and conducting electrical safety tests on products (training provided)
  4. Recording testing, delivery, and collection details in our system
  5. Maintaining inventory of products and spare parts
  6. Completing product modifications as needed
  7. Providing product demonstrations and basic staff training
  8. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment

Hours of work are 37.5 per week, Sunday to Thursday, 10pm - 6.30am. An optional out-of-hours on-call rota is available with additional pay.

About You:

Ideal candidates will have or be willing to develop:

  • Interest or experience in mechanics or electrical work (not essential, training provided)
  • A full, valid UK driving licence
  • A proactive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow procedures
  • Basic knowledge of hygiene and safety rules (desirable)
  • Basic PC skills including email and MS Office
  • Willingness to complete a DBS check

This role involves manual handling, including lifting and loading products.
